Thanks to the Birth to Work initiative, 1000 incoming Kindergarten students received free school supplies for the start of the school year.

Thanks to our generous community, over 67,000 school supplies were donated this year for the First Day supply drive. We also thank McDonalds, Ascentra, Durhman, United Health Care, edwards Congregational Church, HyVee, the Postal Carriers, the Summit Program and all the vounteers who helped sort and pack the supplies at Wood Intermediate. This was truly a community effort to best prepare all students for the first day of school. Thank you all!

| 8/26/2010 NHS students win 2010 Pastel Competition

Seven local high schools compete this year with teams of 4 - 8 students. They were drawn in downtown Davenport over Memorial Day weekend and winners were announced this summer. North's winning creation depicted how pollution is destroying our environment.

| 8/26/2010 Fillmore teacher wins Chick-Fil-a Teacher of the Year

Courtney Evans, Reading Specialist at Fillmore Elementary, was one of three Quad City Area teachers selected as a Chick-Fil-a Teacher of the year. She received an award as well as $500.00. Ms. Evans was nominated by two Fillmore students whom she mentors.
