IOWA LANDSCAPE MOSAIC MURAL UNVEILED AT EISENHOWER

Fifth grade students at Eisenhower Elementary will unveil a mosaic mural featuring an Iowa landscape scene during a special ceremony on Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m.

The students have been working under the direction of art teacher Stacey Houk and have had the help and support of both school staff and parents during this project. Part of a study of Iowa regional artist Grant Wood, the mosaic is 6’ x 8’ and incorporates several elements of student artwork, including water color paintings, cooper tooling and foam board prints. The mosaic is made up of broken tile and dishes.

The Eisenhower PTA has helped finance the project. Other student artwork will also be on display that evening.
