ASSOCIATION HOST 19TH ANNUAL MARTIN
LUTHER KING, JR.
COMMEMORATIVE BREAKFAST
“Remembering the Past and
Shaping the Future” is the theme for the 19th
annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. commemorative
breakfast celebration being sponsored by the
Davenport Community Schools and the Davenport
Education Association on Thursday, January 15 at
6:15 a.m. at Sudlow Intermediate. A program will
follow at 6:45 a.m.
This year’s event marks what
would have been Dr. King’s 75th
birthday. Entertainment will be provided by
students from throughout the district. Talent in
the past has included musical groups, dancing,
readings/speeches and skits provided by students of
all ages. “Our mission focuses on providing a
quality education enriched by our diverse
community,” explains Dr. Jim Blanche,
superintendent. “This event provides an opportunity
to celebrate that diversity.”
There is no cost to attend the
breakfast, however, reservations should be made by
calling the Administration Services Center at
336-5000.
