DAVENPORT COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AND DAVENPORT EDUCATION
ASSOCIATION HOST 19TH ANNUAL MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
COMMEMORATIVE BREAKFAST

“Remembering the Past and Shaping the Future” is the theme for the 19th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. commemorative breakfast celebration being sponsored by the Davenport Community Schools and the Davenport Education Association on Thursday, January 15 at 6:15 a.m. at Sudlow Intermediate.  A program will follow at 6:45 a.m.

This year’s event marks what would have been Dr. King’s 75th birthday.  Entertainment will be provided by students from throughout the district.  Talent in the past has included musical groups, dancing, readings/speeches and skits provided by students of all ages.  “Our mission focuses on providing a quality education enriched by our diverse community,” explains Dr. Jim Blanche, superintendent.  “This event provides an opportunity to celebrate that diversity.”

There is no cost to attend the breakfast, however, reservations should be made by calling the Administration Services Center at 336-5000.
